While viewing photos, the black control panel shown to the left appears when you mouse over the image or, on a tablet, touch the screen. It normally disappears after a few seconds. Button actions are as shown, with thumbnails showing above the photo and photo captions below. On a tablet you can swipe from photo to photo, either left or right. The 1:1 is option particularly useful when viewing panoramas or wanting to see more detail in photos. When you click the slideshow button the duration box appears allowing you to change time. Turn thumbnails and captions off during a slideshow to maximise photo size.

On the photo caption section below a photo, a map icon appears if there is a location associated with the photo - click on the icon to open the map. You can zoom in and out and move the map around. Click on the icon again to close the map.
